Ajyal Al-Rafidain Foundation for Education Development is an Iraqi scientific research foundation officially registered under Registration Certificate No. (1EK2302008), reference No. (5730), dated 13 February 2023, issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. It also holds letter No. (58715), dated 25 May 2026, from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research — Studies, Planning and Follow-up Directorate, concerning cooperation within its stated objectives and academic, scientific and educational remit. The Foundation is overseen by a distinguished academic group of senior professors and researchers holding doctorates and advanced academic ranks in a wide range of disciplines at Iraqi public universities and established academic institutions. Together with most members of the General Assembly, they form the Foundation’s academic core. Its Scientific Advisory Board brings together experienced academics and advisers who help shape scientific policy, guide research and development and safeguard the quality of its scholarly output.
The Foundation’s strategic vision focuses on advancing scientific research and academic education in line with contemporary international standards and supporting sustainable development in the educational environment. To strengthen knowledge exchange, it has developed cooperation agreements and strategic partnerships with universities, colleges, scientific associations, research institutions and publishers inside and outside Iraq. It specializes in organizing international and local scientific conferences. Its activities also include training courses, scientific seminars, specialist workshops, academic events and discussion sessions that bring researchers and academics together to exchange expertise and develop applied research, alongside the publication of conference proceedings in accordance with academic publishing standards.
The Foundation has integrated scientific, technical and administrative capabilities, supported by staff specializing in establishing, developing and managing peer-reviewed journals for public and private institutions in Iraq and for institutions and publishers abroad. It operates journal platforms using Open Journal Systems (OJS), supports ISSN and DOI acquisition and administration, prepares publishing templates and policies, and helps journals and studies prepare for indexing in established international services, including Scopus and Clarivate. The Foundation continues to develop its organizational and technical arrangements and to provide training and professional development programs, dedicating its efforts to education and research and to professional, objective academic cooperation in Iraq and internationally.
